Aids Awareness

AIDS Awareness Committee Report

Chairman: Tony J. Singletary

I appreciate your appointing me as the Chairman of the AIDS Awareness Committee for the 1999-2000 club year.

As a healthcare professional I understand the devastating clinical, economic, and humanistic consequences of an incurable disease like HIV/AIDS.  While the scientific community is working diligently to find a cure for the terrible disease, we can have a positive impact on preventing this terrible disease through early education of our youths. To complete this endeavor, I would like to request a grant in the amount of $1000.  The monies will be utilized to provide educational material and two educational symposiums for Mitchell-Baker and Westwood fifth-grade classes.

I will work with this committee and the Rotary to improve the overall awareness of HIV/AIDS. Thank you again for the opportunity.

If I can provide you with any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
